In this space I will tell you about myself

I come from a close-knit Colombian family and I’m the proud mum of two daughters, who have been my greatest teachers. I’m deeply passionate about learning and about supporting people to bring out the best in themselves. I’m also a strong animal lover and advocate. My life has been shaped by change, challenges, continuous learning, and resilience—as well as by the joy and fulfilment my family and my work have brought me.

I’ve lived in three different countries, been an entrepreneur twice, and like most people, I’ve had my fair share of life challenges. Professionally, I worked as an engineer for over 15 years, and for the past 16 years I’ve supported professionals and communities in their growth and development. Along the way, life has invited me to rethink myself more than once. My biggest professional turning point came in 2010, when supporting others became my life purpose—a purpose I continue to honour deeply.

As an engineer, I was quite sceptical about coaching—but life has a funny way of surprising you. In 2010, I trained as an Ontological Coach with Newfield Network Inc., a school accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Since then, I’ve focused my work on supporting people in both their professional and personal growth. I help them navigate challenges, open up to change, discover their purpose, and step into meaningful journeys of self-discovery and growth. I’ve worked with professionals at all levels, supporting their career development within organisations, and their stories and achievements continue to inspire what I do.

Coaching completely changed the way I see the world. I learned to listen beyond words—to the body and emotions as well. I often say that I used to see life in black and white, and now I can see the full spectrum of colours. It also invited me to reflect on my beliefs, my story, and my values—to question them, reshape them, and choose consciously. It gave me the courage to shift my professional path and make some big life decisions. It helped me understand why life brought me back to Colombia after becoming an Australian citizen, and in 2024—sixteen years later—it gave me the courage to return to Australia. I came back with a deep sense of fulfilment, knowing I had given my all to help build a better Colombia, and with the excitement of reconnecting with a dream—to live in a country I also love and be close to my daughters.

In the academic field, I have fully enjoyed my life as a student. I am an Electrical Engineer, Master in Business Administration, Certified as an Ontological Coach, and I have training in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Dog-Assisted Interventions. I have also completed diplomas in Financial Management, Reputation and Sustainability, ISO 9000 Quality Audit, Governance, Political Management and Public Management. In addition, I have complemented my training with various refresher courses and continuing education in topics such as Leadership, Communications, Negotiation, Management and Ethics, Consulting, and Team Building, among others.

I have always been motivated to help people and work with communities in vulnerable conditions. By chance, I ended up being part of a volunteer work group at Ecopetrol , the main oil and gas company in Colombia. From that experience, the Fundación Gente Ecopetrol ( www.fundacionge.org ) was born, an initiative of the employees and pensioners of the Business Group. I had the honor not only of being a founding partner but of structuring, launching and leading it for more than 12 years. I treasure this experience as a gift from life.

In 2011, without having a team, I had to face the challenge of supporting the emergency response in Dosquebradas . I managed to accompany the families who were victims of this tragedy thanks to my training as a coach, which prepared me to assist people in crisis situations. Only then I did understand why life had brought me back to Colombia.

In addition to my work at the Foundation within Ecopetrol, I accompanied leaders and professionals in change processes. Through coaching, at the Foundation I formed solid teams and designed programs that impacted the lives of more than 6000 families and several communities in different regions of the country, helping them overcome poverty and build a better future. Additionally, I designed strategies to address emergencies across the country, including the pandemic that hit Colombia hard. During that period, we managed to ensure emotional and food sustainability for thousands of families living in poverty throughout Colombia.

My experience drives me to create new spaces to serve and support those who are facing moments of change, growth or crisis, whether in the professional or personal sphere.
